Resilient Labrador Beaux Tox Finds Love After Facing Rejection Due to Facial Deformity

Last Update:

Beaux Tox, a Labrador Retriever, faced rejection and mistreatment due to a facial deformity until he found solace with Jamie Hulit.

Jamie shared with The Dodo, “He just kind of got pushed out of the way and formed how he formed.”

Despite his deformity, Beaux’s spirit remained unaffected, but he endured a series of challenges due to his appearance.

Due to his facial deformity, Beaux couldn’t be sold by breeders, leading to his abandonment and subsequent mistreatment by his previous owner for five years.

Local rescue groups attempted to intervene, but Beaux was left neglected, malnourished, and ridden with disease and parasites.

Jamie became Beaux’s guardian angel, seeing past his hardships and providing him with a loving home. She expressed, “I didn’t care how badly he might be ill. I didn’t want him to go into the foster system again and be returned.”

Having experienced foster care herself as a youngster, Jamie empathized with Beaux’s journey and aimed to offer him stability and a place he could call home.

Dr. Jay Rydberg, a dedicated veterinarian, played a crucial role in Beaux’s recovery, providing intensive therapy to help him overcome his physical and emotional traumas.

Today, Beaux is part of a loving family, bonding closely with Riley, another Retriever, who sees him as a little brother.

Despite their age difference, their friendship is unbreakable, bringing joy and vitality into each other’s lives.

“Riley and Beaux love each other,” Jamie shared. “They’re perfect for each other even with the age difference (Beaux is six and Riley 13), and even though Beaux acts like a puppy — it helps Riley stay young.”

Despite his challenging past, Beaux Tox radiates enthusiasm and innocence, grateful for the love and acceptance he’s found with his new family.
