Dogs with medical conditions or disabilities often face significant challenges. Many times, owners choose to euthanize or abandon them due to the perceived burden of care.
However, every dog, as long as they are not in pain, deserves a chance to live a normal and loved life. Moose is one such dog who got that opportunity and is now thriving as “the happiest dog in the world.”
Moose, known for his ever-present smile and prominent underbite, first met Jennifer Osborne in a pet store in 2016.

Jennifer soon learned that Moose’s unique features were caused by a congenital brain abnormality, which had resulted in certain parts of his brain being absent.
According to Jennifer, Moose’s underbite, crooked nose, and other facial features were due to his nose being forced into his skull during his development in the womb. His misshapen skull and abnormal brain structure were part of this condition.
Jennifer was instantly smitten with Moose and became concerned that he might be euthanized if left with someone unable to care for his specific needs.

Driven by this fear and her affection for him, she decided to adopt Moose, ensuring he would have a loving home.
Caring for Moose proved to be a demanding task, requiring Jennifer’s constant attention to manage his health issues. Moose experienced seizures that affected his body and mind, often leaving him in distress.
An MRI revealed the full scope of Moose’s challenges, showing missing brain parts, a cyst in place of his sinuses and forehead, and the absence of these structures altogether.

Despite these anomalies, Jennifer found comfort in the fact that the rest of Moose’s brain was healthy.
His neurologist explained that while Moose would experience lifelong seizures, they could be managed with medication and would not affect his lifespan.
Jennifer considers Moose a blessing, ready to embrace any hurdles they may face together. His spirited and lively nature stands testament to his resilience.

“We’re quite fortunate Moose survived,” Jennifer told Metro, marveling at his miraculous journey.
Moose’s joyful disposition is evident in his constant smile as he goes about his days. “He’s fantastic and a blessing in my life,” Jennifer shared. “I’m so glad he’s my dog because he’s the happiest dog I’ve ever met.”
Seeing Moose thrive and live his best life is heartwarming. For those interested, Moose’s adventures can be followed on Instagram, sharing his cheerful spirit with the world. Spread this heartwarming story!
