Every time I saw the hungry dog by the roadside, my heart ached. It was a sight that compelled me to start bringing him food daily. On July 25th, as if by fate, he got stuck in the grass and vines close to the road. Fortunately, my family and I found him in time and decided to bring him into our home.
When the dog, who we began calling Pan Pan, arrived at the house, it was evident he had a harsh past. He was filthy and emitted a strong odor. I promptly bathed him and then took him to the veterinarian, where it was discovered that he had a severe skin condition.

Under the vet’s guidance, I consistently gave him medicinal baths. Gradually, his ears perked up, and though he initially struggled to walk properly with his back legs, his condition started to improve. By August 15th, he even underwent surgery to help his legs.
The surgery lasted for two hours, and Pan Pan was still shaking from the anesthesia afterward. However, after a week in the hospital, he came home in better spirits. Although I tried giving him different foods, he seemed picky; Pan Pan particularly disliked pears.

As I prepared to leave my hometown for a new chapter, Pan Pan watched with concern. He seemed worried I might leave him behind, especially as he eyed my packing. Only when a piece of my clothing fell into the suitcase did he seem reassured.
Before leaving, we bid farewell to Pan Pan’s dog friends, who had become quite attached to him. It was a reluctant goodbye, but necessary as we set out for our new home. Stopping at a service area along the way, I let Pan Pan out for some fresh air. The chill in the air was growing, so I decided to wrap him warmly in my coat as we continued our journey.
