Despite the pup’s nervousness, the rescuer was determined not to give up.

Understanding the need to gain the dog’s trust gradually, she decided to take things slowly, giving him the chance to get used to her presence.

“I was riding my scooter and saw this small white creature lying in the middle of the right lane. It was a dangerous spot with trucks passing by. I noticed him limping away because his front leg seemed injured,” Prue from Mission Pawsible shared with The Dodo.

After some time, the tired and hungry puppy allowed the rescuer to pick him up and bring him to her vehicle.

Once they arrived at Prue’s home, the dog continued to be cautious, hiding in a corner and constantly watching his surroundings.

When the rescuer offered him food, the pup was startled once more, as he was not accustomed to such kindness and care.

It was evident that the puppy, named Murphy, was engulfed in fear. Prue recognized the importance of providing him the space and time he needed to relax and feel safe.

Murphy avoided human contact and spent his first week in Prue’s laundry room.

“He definitely chose to retreat to the furthest corner. I thought, ‘I’ll just give him some time and space’,” Prue explained.

While two other foster dogs were with her, Prue showed Murphy the joy and affection he could experience if he allowed himself to let go of his fears.

Seeing how she treated the other dogs helped Murphy open up, and eventually, he allowed Prue to give him belly rubs.

Three days later, Murphy gathered the courage to explore the house.

“He became curious and came in to see what was happening. That moment showed he had overcome his fear. The day he walked inside was the day his guard fell,” Prue recalled.

Once Murphy realized he was both safe and loved, he transformed into a cuddly, affectionate dog.

Most impressively, Murphy also influenced the other foster dogs in Prue’s care. When they played together, the foster dogs became like puppies again.

“He’s honestly the perfect addition to our family. He’s truly remarkable. I love him,” Prue expressed.
